The Live In America EB-5 team attended the annual EB-5 Advocacy Conference hosted by IIUSA (Invest in the USA) in Washington D.C. on April 22 through April 24, 2018.
Now in its 11th year, the IIUSA EB-5 Advocacy Conference is one of the EB-5 industry’s premier conferences and focuses on advocating for the EB-5 Program, promoting industry success and driving business development.
The event was held at the Marriott Marquis in the heart of the nation’s capital, Washington D.C. Mr. Adam Greene, President of Live In America EB-5 and a member of the Board of Directors of IIUSA, was a featured speaker at the event.
The conference was well attended by a variety of industry stakeholders, including regional centers, foreign intermediaries, attorneys and financial service firms.
Kathy Nuebel Kovarik, Chief, Office of Policy and Strategy, U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services (USCIS) was the keynote speaker at the event. As Chief of the Office of Policy and Strategy, Ms. Nuebel Kovarik provided attendees with critical insights on the state of pending EB-5 Regulations as well as her perspective on other important agency developments.
Founded in 2005, Invest in the USA (IIUSA) is the national membership-based 501(c)(6) not-for-profit industry trade association for the EB-5 Regional Center Program. Its members account for a vast majority of capital formation and job creation in the U.S. resulting from the EB-5 Program. IIUSA works very closely with its members, Congress and other industry stakeholder groups with a focus on improved EB-5 Program integrity, permanent or long-term reauthorization and overall improvements for EB-5 Program efficiency and capacity so it can continue to deliver much-needed capital to community-changing economic development projects throughout the United States.

EB-5 Project – One Light Street Update
Live In America EB-5’s One Light Street project, a multi-use building under construction in increasingly desirable downtown Baltimore, Maryland, is proceeding apace. The site is just steps from the Metro Subway and the city’s revitalized Inner Harbor.
When finished, the fully-financed structure will have 10 floors of residential units (280 apartments), 10 floors of office space, and 8 stories of parking. M&T Bank has spoken for two-thirds of the office space and will be moving into it this fall. The parking floors will be ready for use at that time also, as will the ground floor retail spaces. The residential units will be ready for occupancy in 2019, which developer Madison-Marquette says will signal completion of the building.
